Santa Cruz Auto Repair

We recently moved to Santa Cruz and were looking for a place to service our Volvo; somewhere we could trust. Being a computer guy (and definitely not a car guy) I'm always weary of mechanics because I don't know very much about cars and have been made to feel inferior and taken advantage of by mechanics in the past. Water Star Motors was the perfect place for me. They are up front and honest about what they see and explain everything without making me feel dumb or like they were trying to pull one over on me. Great, timely, friendly service... I highly recommend them.

i have a 97 toyota 4runner. water star has fixed several problems and done them well. and when i mentioned a clutch problem (which another mechanic had not been able to fix) they also said that they could not discern the problem, which i appreciated, since they could have tried something and charged me for it, but were honest and didn't try to "fix" something that didn't need fixing.

I took my truck in for a tune up and the staff at WSM, did a great job! Not only did they advise me about what work needed to be done currently they also advised me on future issues. They did not try to coerce me into needless work. They also finished work on my truck on time! Dan was especially friendly and and explained everything that the mechanics had completeld. A job well done.

I have been going to Water Star Motors for the past 5 years and I do not consider myself a "green person". Yes, I just outed myself in one of the most "green" citys in California. It's okay, I am not worried because, since going to Water Star Motors I am becoming a "greener" person and am proud of it. You see, Henry and Lisa Carter are the owners and get this, Lisa is a certified mechanic, my type of gal! They were the first Santa Cruz City Certified Green Business and State of California Certified Green Business. In addition, they are AAA approved auto repair center, which means they is no foul in around with their reputation! Henry has 30 years working as a professional technician and Hybrid vehicle class certified. How do I know this well, their little office, which is not fancy but who cares when you know the job is being done right, well the office has a ton of certification plaques on the walls. Also both Henry and Lisa have taken the time talk to me about the high pitched noise coming from my car when the dealer just looked the other way. I work in health care and i am into certifications, quality means something to me. I also listen to talk radio, not sure if that helps me be greener or not but Henry and Lisa are the co-creator of "If My Car Could Talk" radio. show. The Star Waters Team are friendly, honest, and simply the best auto repair service in Santa Cruz County. Where else can you get the boss son, Dan, to drive you to work in the morning and be on time! Henry, Lisa, Dan, Jim and Troy are super stars at Water Star Motors. I have now referred 3 different people to these stars and well, my Car-ma and my growing "Greenness" are doing great!
