Henri, Lisa, family and staff have taken care of my Mercedes for 17 years. They go out of their way to take care of their customers responsibly. They've done an good job over 17 years and kept my Mercedes running and I travel a lot of miles in it. The shop is clean, they get parts immediately whenever possible to make sure you have a car, they offer alternatives (used parts vs. new) when practical or when financial concerns dictate a lower cost alternative. They provide estimates and they call if there are additional repairs recommended. They also will recommend other shops for repairs that they don't do (tailpipe comes to mind). The shop is 'green' rated and that isn't easy in the auto mechanic business. Definitely worth a try.

On the advice of Water Star Motors, I brought my car in for replacement of several gaskets. They had been leaking oil, which creates odors in the passenger compartment and risks running out of oil (never a good idea.) The replacement project was costly because of the crowded engine compartment, but the work was done on schedule and I now have confidence that my car will run well in the foreseeable future.

They are so knowledgeable and have even helped me by phone with some on-the-spot repairs that I could try when I had some road-side difficulties. The BEST part of Water Star Motors is their service, value, personalities and cleanliness. My husband and I really appreciated the fact that we felt just from one visit that we were part of their family with the way they took care of us and interacted with us. They even mailed us a Thank You letter for coming to see them! I have had a tire pressure light on for almost 2 years that no shop one can ever seem to keep off, so I finally began ignoring it about 8 mths ago and recently decided after all the great reviews to try Water Star Motors. They not only fixed the problem, but also let me know that I had a nail in my tire and actually this time was truly loosing pressure! Whew, I sure am glad I went in to have the problem fixed. My tire is fixed now and I have not seen that darn light come on again. I WILL DEFINITELY GO BACK!!!!!

What can I say that hasn't already been said? Water Star Motors is the best! I never worry about being told I need repairs that are not necessary. I am treated with dignity and respect every time I go in. Repairs/oil changes are done within a very reasonable timeframe. I usually wait for my car and get to walk around exciting downtown SC! It is wonderful not to have to leave my car for the "entire day" as some places require. Any questions I have are politely answered with more than just a "yes" or "no" answer. The staff takes the time to explain to me in detail the reason behind the answers to my questions. I SO appreciate Water Star Motors!

We recently moved to Santa Cruz and were looking for a place to service our Volvo; somewhere we could trust. Being a computer guy (and definitely not a car guy) I'm always weary of mechanics because I don't know very much about cars and have been made to feel inferior and taken advantage of by mechanics in the past. Water Star Motors was the perfect place for me. They are up front and honest about what they see and explain everything without making me feel dumb or like they were trying to pull one over on me. Great, timely, friendly service... I highly recommend them.

I've been bringing my car to Water Star since I was 18 and my experiences have always been positive. As a young woman, it's hard to walk into a repair shop without worrying that you will be treated as a clueless newb and taken advantage of with needless repairs and inflated prices. WaterStar always does the work I ask to be done (and can afford at the moment) and if they find something extra that needs attention, they tell me what's up, take note of the repairs, and let ME decide when to get the extra work done.

I have been going to Water Star Motors for the past 5 years and I do not consider myself a "green person". Yes, I just outed myself in one of the most "green" city in California. It's okay, I am not worried because, since going to Water Star Motors I am becoming a "greener" person and am proud of it. Henry and Lisa Carter are the owners and get this, Lisa is a certified mechanic, my type of gal! They were the first Santa Cruz City Certified Green Business and State of California Certified Green Business. Henry has 30 years working as a professional technician and Hybrid vehicle class certified. How do I know this well, their little office, which is not fancy but who cares when you know the job is being done right, well the office has a ton of certification plaques on the walls. I work in health care and i am into certifications, quality means something to me. I also listen to talk radio, not sure if that helps me be greener or not but Henry and Lisa are the co-creator of "If My Car Could Talk" radio. show. Where else can you get the boss son, Dan, to drive you to work in the morning and be on time! I'm happy my Car-ma and my growing "Greenness" are doing great!
