We are confirmed Water Star customers after spending over a decade with another fine auto repair shop in Santa Cruz. We started out only bringing one of our cars to Water Star for an emergency, but we so pleased by the service, that we now bring all of our cars (a Honda, Camry, and Volvo) to this wonderful local business. Derek is in charge of Customer Service at Water Star Motors, and he is s complete gem. In fact, Derek is one of the reasons that we now consider Water Star our hands down repair shop. In fact, everyone at Water Star is completely helpful and knowledgeable, going out of their way to make customers feel completely satisfied and taken care of. Friendliness is a plus, but it doesn't end there. Water Star Motor's service is fast, excellent, and affordable. Radiator flush, Oil/filter changed, & DMV Smog Certificate. Best part of the service was when Henry loaned me his '75 Mercedes 4 door sedan to drive home and back. Had to put the pedal to the metal going up the hill to Scotts Valley... but that ole Merz ran like a true blue John Deere diesel tractor in the Pan Handle of Texas... for those of you young whipper snappers who don't know where the Pan Handle is... it's located in the northwestern part of Texas which encompasses surrounding New Mexico, Colorado, and Oklahoma. The geography lesson was free. The services are not. You will be treated fair and square at Water Star Motors. Don't let any of this go to your head now... ha!

Staff is great and friendly. Work was fast. Experience overall was positive. Highly recommended by friends. I do wish that I had gotten quotes first though. Water Star told me flushing break lines as part of my 90K tune-up would be an extra $130. When I called another shop just to check on prices, they said that would have been included in their service. Lesson learned. Overall, I would recommend this shop to anyone. Everyone was really personable and seemed genuine. The shop was clean and orderly. Great business in Santa Cruz.

Thanks for the input Page. Toyota does not recommend Brake Fluid flushing on the 90K service although some shops do just include it in their service. We recommend Brake Fluid flushes based on condition of the fluid. We have the equipment to measure water content of the Brake fluid. Once it has 3% or more water we recommend replacing it. The normal standard is based on time, 2 years, not mileage. That is why we don't just include it in that service. If you don't need it we won't recommend it.Thanks for your business. Henry
